DJJ Mental Health Program

The Parent-Child Center has contracted with the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) to provide Mental Health services to youth held in secure detention at the Palm Beach Regional Juvenile Detention Center. The mental health team consists of one full-time licensed program supervisor, one full-time licensed therapist, one full-time Master’s Level therapist, and one part-time Master’s Level therapist who provide therapeutic support and crisis intervention for youth in the detention center.

Our program staff work closely with the administration and staff at the detention center to ensure each youth’s mental and emotional well-being while detained. Services include assessments of suicide risk, crisis intervention, individual counseling, psycho-educational groups, confinement reviews, and collaboration with other providers. Mental health staff also meet with every youth who enters secure detention to assess emotional state and associated risk factors.

If you would like more information about the services we provide in the detention center, please contact our Intake Department at 561-841-3500 x 1059
